How do I make a reservation?
We require a name, home address, work number and or mobile
number and a credit card number. This is entered into our reservation
system and you will receive an email confirmation. Nothing is charged
on the card until the day of the rental. The credit card you wish to
pay with must be present at time of delivery. Different cards may be
used for security deposit versus rental charge. A 2% cash discount
will does apply. Please keep in mind we will communicating with you
at the beginning and end of your rental, if you do not have service
on your mobile phone or plan to turn it off while on vacation,
please call us with your house or cabin phone number.
How do I set up arrangements to get my boat?
We ask that you call us one day before you are due to receive
your boat, (after 1pm preferable). At this time we will put you in
touch with our dispatcher to offer directions, answer questions and
do a final check on accessories requested and then set up a time
for delivery, the next day.
Do we have to pay for gas?
Yes, we will deliver your boat full of fuel and you return it empty !!
We do not make you pay inflated on water fueling prices by requesting
it be returned full. Initial tank of fuel is charged at $0.25 below pump
price, in addition to the rental price. The ($0.25)
discount is to compensate for gas left in boats upon return. Please keep
in mind, boat gas gages are not usually that accurate due to waves and
angle of the boat, so sometimes when gages show ¾'s they may actually
be less than ½ of a tank.
Average gas usage for solid use: Jet Skis 4 hours per tank, Ski boats
will last a day on one tank. Pontoon boats can last one to two days on
one tank

What if it is bad weather?
Weather is always a hard one, as ones view is very subjective,
and lake conditions vary greatly, so it is up to you to monitor
wind direction and determine if you think you may need to change
lakes. We are only too glad to offer our knowledgeable input on
other lake options. e.g. If you book a ski boat on one of the bays
and it's a Northerly wind, the bays will be very rough and many
other lakes could be smooth. If it is raining in the morning make
sure you look at the overall day forecast before calling to cancel
your boat, often it clears 10ish and is nice. If it is raining
solidly all day and we close our beach location there is No Charge, on daily rentals.
Insurance
Sunset Watersports does NOT offer insurance you can buy to
protect our machines, (physical damage) since boat and
fiberglass repairs can be very expensive, we suggest you be very
careful around docks and shallow water. Some homeowner policies
can offer coverage for recreation vehicles.
Jet ski Rules and Regulations
As long as used safely jet skis are a lot of fun, however there are a few strict regulations that may help guide you rental decisions. Any person born after December 31st 1978 must receive a boater's safety certificate. This certificate consists of Sunset Watersports giving both operational and safety instruction to all potential operators at the time of delivery. After receiving instruction you must sign and CARRY A COPY OF THE RENTAL AGREEMENT on the Jet Ski at all times. IT'S THE LAW !!
